NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb University Volleyball team extended its win streak to three straight matches and got the overall record back to .500 with a 3-0 sweep over the University of West Georgia, Sunday afternoon inside Allen Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After each team traded the first four points of the opening set, Lipscomb used a 7-1 run to swell the lead to 9-3 after an ace by
Ella Durham and an assisted block by
Courtney Jones and
Berkley Mischler.
The Wolves used a quick 3-0 run to make it a 9-6 score, but the Bisons swelled the lead to 14-8 with a spike from
Brooklyn Fuchs and a service ace by
Hallie Hendrickx.
From there, the Bisons held the Wolves to eight kills as they won 25-17 in set one.
The second set saw 10 ties and six lead changes. Tied at 10, despite a Mischler kill, the Wolves kept the momentum to the media timeout with a 5-2 run, including three straight points.
Coming out of the break, the Bisons came out strong with six straight points, including three kills by Jones and two from
Brooklyn Fuchs, as well as a service ace from
Kenzie Kucks.
The run continued despite West Georgia using their timeouts. Back-to-back kills for Jones and a
Sophia Hudepohl ace extended the lead to 21-16 en route to a 25-20 win to lead the match two sets to none.
Lipscomb won the first two points in set three and never looked back, rolling out to leads of 7-2 and 11-6.
With LUV ahead 22-9, UWG used a 7-2 run to cut the deficit to 24-16, but a
Sydney Strenger kill ended the match and completing the weekend sweep.
The Bisons had a .324 attack percentage with 15 kills, while the Wolves were limited to a -.034 frame with five kills.

KEY STATISTICS
Courtney Jones led all attackers with 15 kills on the afternoon, swinging .344 with 32 attacks and four errors. In set two, she posted six of the team's 13 kills.
Berkley Mischler was a part of eight blocks and added five kills.
The Bisons tallied eight service aces on the day, led by two each from
Hallie Hendrickx and
Kenzie Kucks.
Ella Durham totaled 10 digs, nine kills and four blocks, while
Sophia Hudepohl totaled 31 assists.
HERD NOTES
The Bisons held their opponent to a .022 attack percentage (23-21-90), the lowest mark of the season and the second match where an opponent hit below .100, joining Bellarmine on Oct. 3 (.076).
