Lipscomb University Athletics Spiritual Formation is thrilled to announce the twelfth year of the annual 555 Prayer Card Campaign. "God is so incredibly faithful," said Chris Klotz, Director of Spiritual Formation in Athletics. "Each and every year the kindness of God is on display as He takes a piece of paper and willing and humble hearts to pray and does more than we can ever imagine! We are so grateful to partner with what God is doing within the athletic department!"
The 555 Prayer Card Campaign invites anyone willing and excited to pray for five student-athletes, five minutes each day, five days a week, throughout the year. Over the years, this initiative has grown, with increasing enthusiasm from cardholders as well as student-athletes.
The campaign's mission is to ensure that each student-athlete receives encouragement, protection, and guidance through prayer. The hope is that student-athletes would know the Lord and experience the abundant life that only He offers. What makes the 555 Campaign unique is how it demonstrates that God works not only through individual prayers, but also through the collective effort of an entire community.
Alex Schock, Director of Compliance at Lipscomb, shared how meaningful this initiative has been to her personally. "The cards have been great for my faith journey. They have taught me to pause and slow down, and they remind me to pray for someone other than myself." Schock continued, "It is powerful to watch every athlete compete knowing that they have someone in their corner praying for them—whether they realize it or not." Her reflection highlights how the campaign blesses not only the athletes, but the cardholders as well.
"Seeing the impact of the campaign on athletes and prayer card holders' year-after-year has been both humbling and inspiring," Klotz added. "The faithfulness of God and the power of prayer shine through this initiative, showing how a posture of prayer can lead to profound transformation. We are deeply grateful for the extraordinary support and willingness of so many who pray for our student-athletes."
