Bisons Advance to ASUN Semifinals with 2-0 Win Over Queens

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Lipscomb Women's Soccer opened postseason play in convincing fashion on Thursday afternoon, securing a 2-0 victory over Queens in the ASUN Quarterfinals at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex.

After a scoreless first half highlighted by steady possession and several early chances from the Bisons, the breakthrough came shortly after the break. In the 50th minute, junior captain Bella Carapazza played a perfectly weighted pass to Skylar Cole, who finished calmly into the back of the net to give Lipscomb a 1-0 lead. Lucy Hurst also picked up an assist on the play after a strong win from a defensive play to maintain possession.

Lipscomb continued to press and control the tempo, and Carapazza doubled the advantage in the 76th minute with a stunning outside-foot finish into the bottom corner. Sophomore Chloe Iliff was credited with the assist.

The Bisons' defense was dominant throughout, holding Queens to just five shots on goal while goalkeeper Audrey Tucker recorded her second shutout of the season with five saves.

Lipscomb outshot the Royals 20-12 and held a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks, maintaining pressure on the attacking end for much of the match.

With the win, the Bisons advance to the ASUN Semifinals, where they'll face the winner of the Jacksonville vs. North Alabama matchup on Sunday, Nov. 2, at 1 p.m. CT at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex.
