JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Lipscomb Men's Cross Country delivered one of the most impressive performances in program history Saturday morning at Cecil Field, earning a second-place team finish at the 2025 ASUN Cross Country Championships. The Bisons placed six runners inside the top 15, led by Freshman standout freshman standout Max Hooper, who finished fifth overall in 23:29.5, breaking the school's all-time 8k record.
Hooper's historic run sparked a tremendous all-around performance from the Bisons, who executed a disciplined race in humid Florida conditions. Chase Atkins crossed just behind him in sixth (23:30.9), followed closely by Levi Streeval in eighth (23:34.4), Brady Yingst in tenth (23:38.3), and James Schmidt in eleventh (23:40.6) to complete Lipscomb's scoring five.
Will Goodrich (14th, 23:48.2), Matthew Hansen (21st, 23:56.9), and Joe Ponter (25th, 24:13.7) added crucial depth to the Bisons' dominant pack presence, as the team placed all seven scorers inside the top 21 for one of its strongest conference finishes in program history.

The runner-up finish marks another major step forward for the program under head coach Nick Polk, whose squad demonstrated both elite front-running talent and exceptional depth throughout the race.
