NASHVILLE – Led by a career performance by
Brooklyn Fuchs and a match that saw 33 ties and 12 lead changes, the Lipscomb University Volleyball team rallied from a 24-23 deficit in set three to earn a Saturday night sweep over Eastern Kentucky University in an Atlantic Sun Conference match inside Allen Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
EKU rallied twice from early deficits. After tying the frame at eight points apiece, LUV won the next five straight thanks to kills by
Brooklyn Fuchs and
Anna Claire Brown.
The Colonels rallied from a 13-8 deficit thanks to a 13-5 run of their own to lead 21-18 before Lipscomb burned a timeout.
After an EKU attack error to earn the side out, Fuchs went to work with a kill and a block to help her team take the 22-21 lead.
Jones, Brown and
Ella Durham helped LUV take the opening set with a 25-23 win.
There were 14 ties and five lead changes in set two. Trailing 15-14 at the media break, the Bisons flipped the score again with a 17-15 lead.
Later, the Bisons had a 24-22 lead after another Fuchs spike, but the Colonels won the next point to make things interesting. After a Bison timeout,
Allison Barrick ended the EKU threat with a kill to win set two, 25-23, and take a commanding 2-0 match lead.
Set three was a wash, rinse and repeat of set two, as there were 12 more ties and four more lead changes. However, EKU had the momentum midway through with a 13-10 advantage, but a quick 4-1 run with a Fuchs kill and a service ace by Jones evened the set at 14.
Lipscomb made it a 20-18 lead, but two mistakes by the Bisons and a AG Hynes gave EKU a 23-22 lead.
Emilee Hill forced set point, 24-22 for the visiting Colonels with a kill on the next point. After a LUV timeout, Jones earned the side out with a kill.
On the next rally, an assisted block by Fuchs and Brown forced lingering death with an even set score of 24. LUV took the lead on a
Sophia Hudepohl service ace, and with match point, Jones finished it was a slam from the left side to earn the sweep.

KEY STATISTICS
Brooklyn Fuchs earned a career-high in kills with 10 on a .571 attack percentage. She also matched a career-best in blocks with five.
Berkley Mischler was the leader in kills for the Bisons with 15, while
Courtney Jones added 11.
Kenzie Kucks totaled 15 digs, while
Sophia Hudepohl recorded 41 assists and nine digs for her 49th career 40-assist match.
HERD NOTES
Since the Colonels joined the ASUN in 2021, the Bisons are now 6-2 in the series, including winners of their last three.
The sweep marked an end to four straight matches where the contest has gone either four or five sets.
In four ASUN matches, the Colonels posted its lowest kill total in conference play and second-lowest performance of the season.
