
Golf Competes in Rain-Shortened Cullan Brown Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Lipscomb Men's Golf competed in a weather-shortened Cullan Brown Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. The squad finished tied for 12th in a tournament that was shortened to 36 holes because of heavy rainfall. The Team shot a 291 in the first round and a 289 in the second round for a 580 (+12) overall.
Veteran Minas Manias led the way for the Bisons, tying for 14th-place as the Bisons' only competitor to finish under par. He started his tournament with a 72 and finished up with a 69 in the second round to finish at 141 (-1). He boasted five birdies over the two rounds.
Rio Saigal had a strong outing for Lipscomb, tying for 33rd after finishing even to par at 143. He was consistent over his two rounds with a 72 in round one and a 71 in round two with five birdies. Maxi Klaus was Lipscomb's next finisher, tying for 50th in the field. Klaus started off impressively with a 71 (-1), but his score increased to a 74 in the second round. All told, he carded a 145 (+4). Klaus also connected on five birdies.
The final two finishers for the Bisons were Oakley Gee and Toby Bishop who finished tied for 72nd and 83rd, respectively. Gee shot a 76 in his first 18 holes and a 75 in his final 18 holes for a 151 (+9). Bishop carded a 77 in both of his rounds to finish with a 154 (+12).

The Bisons will compete at the Little Rock Invitational Oct. 13-14. The tournament will mark the last of the fall slate for Lipscomb.
