Bisons Battle to Draw with North Alabama in Second Meeting of the Season

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb Women's Soccer battled to a 1–1 draw against North Alabama on Thursday night at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex, marking the second meeting between the two programs this season.

The Bisons came out firing early, dominating possession and creating several quality chances. Lucy Hurst fired the first shot high, followed by a dangerous combination from London De Fini, Maddy Rhodes, and Hailey Johnson that ended with De Fini's low effort just wide. Skylar Cole nearly put the Bisons ahead off a corner, and Jaide-Simone Prejean rattled the crossbar twice in quick succession as Lipscomb piled on the pressure.

Despite numerous looks and long spells of possession, the first half ended scoreless.

In the 63rd minute, North Alabama found the opener with an unassisted strike tucked into the bottom right corner to take a 1–0 lead.

Lipscomb refused to back down, pressing hard in search of an equalizer. Their persistence paid off in the 83rd minute when Bella Carapazza beat her defender down the flank and whipped in a perfect cross. Senior Maddy Rhodes timed her run and slid in to slot home the equalizer for the Bisons, leveling the score at 1–1.

Both teams traded chances in the closing minutes, but neither side could find a winner as the match ended in a 1–1 draw.

Lipscomb (now 9-3-2, 5-0-1 ASUN) continues ASUN play Sunday afternoon, hosting it's Senior Day matchup at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex against Central Arkansas, with kickoff set for 1 PM CT.
