NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb University women's tennis team used a strong doubles effort to lead the Bisons to a win over Murray State University, 6-1, Saturday afternoon from the Ensworth Tennis Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After
Mariia Dolzhenko and
Kameliia Tytarenko (2-0) took care of court three in doubles, 6-3, the top two flights went to a seven-point tiebreak. At the top flight, Lipscomb was able to clinch the team point, as
Sofiia Paladi and
Serafima Bobrovnikova (5-8) edged Vleria Chaikovskia/Bruna Melato, 9-7, to get the Bisons out to a 1-0 lead.
The Bisons used the strong effort in doubles into singles play, as they extended the lead to 3-0 with wins from
Rut Galindo (4-3) and Paladi (18-5).
For Paladi, she improved to 7-0 on the season in spring matches with her 6-3, 6-3 victory over Chaikovskaia.
After the Racers won court four to make it 3-1 score, the Bisons clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-3 result for
Sofiia Zhylchuk (9-7).
Dolzhenko (14-7) picked up a three-set win at court two, and Bobrovnikova (12-1) also snatched a three-set dub at the fifth flight to wrap up the Bisons 6-1 win. Both players moved to 6-1 in dual matches this spring.
UP NEXT
With Lipscomb's scheduled match with Kennesaw State postponed on Sunday, the Bisons return to the court next Saturday, March 1, against Jacksonville State. First serve is set for noon at the Ensworth Tennis Center.
