Smeltz and Hooper Earn ASUN Weekly Awards

NASHVILLE, TN – After competing at the Lenny Lyles Invitational this past weekend, Lipscomb Track and Field had two athletes receive ASUN Weekly Honors for their performance.
Kiara Smeltz – ASUN Women's Track Athlete of the Week
With her second ASUN Weekly Honor this season, Kiara Smeltz earned the Women's Track Athlete of the Week title. Smeltz set a new program record in the women's mile with a time of 4:36.85 during the second day of competition in Louisville. Her time ranks first in the conference, while her 800m time of 2:06.58 from this past weekend sit second in the ASUN.
Max Hooper – ASUN Men's Freshman of the Week
After previously breaking the Lipscomb record in the men's mile with the first sub-four-minute time in the program's history, Max Hooper earned his first Men's Freshman of the Week honor. Hooper ran a 1:50.86 in the 800m at the Lenny Lyles Invitational, ranking second in the conference for the first year.
