NASHVILLE, TN – Lipscomb played their third day in a row of action after wrapping up their ASUN series with North Alabama yesterday afternoon. With both teams entering the matchup 13-13, the Bisons grabbed the win to close out their thirteen-game homestand.
 
UTSA 4, LIPSCOMB 13
The Roadrunners scored one run in the top of the first for a quick lead on the Bisons. Lipscomb couldn't find an answer to UTSA's run until the bottom of the third.
 
With bases loaded and one out, Josey Polk doubled to center field for 2 RBI, sending home Macyn Kirby and Elle Smith. The Roadrunners entered a new pitcher to the game and in the next at-bat, Presley Rader grounded out to first, allowing Brenna Sherman to score. By the end of the inning, Lipscomb led the matchup 3-1.
 
UTSA responded in the top of the fourth with a bases-loaded walk with two out. Ryleigh Sapp entered the circle for the Bisons, but the Roadrunners earned another bases-loaded walk to tie the game up at 3-3.
 
Lipscomb loaded the bases in the bottom of the fourth with one out with Smith up to the plate. She lined the ball up center field and was tagged out at first, allowing Mallory Ogle to earn a run for the Bisons. Sherman was walked to load with two outs, and J.Polk stepped up to the plate. She reached first on a throwing error and advanced to second, earning another double RBI on runs from Kirby and Alyssa Hastings.
 
UTSA began to chip away at Lipscomb's 6-3 lead in the top of the fifth, recording a run to cut the deficit to two. Lipscomb was bound to extend their lead, and on a Kirby RBI, Lucy Ream scored another run for the Bisons in the bottom of the inning, pinch-running for Macey Ogle. Mallory Ogle scored a run in the next at-bat on a throwing error by the Roadrunners forced by a Kirby steal. Later in the inning, Kirby scored on an RBI from Smith and Smith scored on an RBI from Sherman.
 
Up 10-4 in the top of the sixth, the Bisons forced the Roadrunners off the plate with no additional runs despite loading the bases. Lipscomb's Macey Ogle recorded a single and advanced to third on a fielding error that sent Ella Polk on base. With two outs and runners on the corners, Mac.Ogle scored a run on an error from UTSA, advancing Mac.Ogle, running for E.Polk, to second. Kirby was walked and Hastings recorded a double to center field, earning 2 RBI on runs from Mal.Ogle and Kirby to run-rule UTSA.
 
With a final score of 13-4, Lipscomb recorded no errors on 11 RBI and 9 hits. Kirby hit 2-2 on the day, walking twice and earning 4 runs and an RBI. Mac.Ogle hit 1-2, earning a walk and 3 runs. Hastings and J.Polk recorded doubles with J.Polk tacking on 4 RBI to her stats.

Lipscomb will hit the road to face local ASUN rival Austin Peay in Clarksville, TN. The series is set to start with a doubleheader with the first pitch of game one at 1:00 PM.
