NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb University men's tennis team saw its come-from-behind effort fall short, as Belmont University picked up the 4-3 win, Friday afternoon from the Beaman Family Tennis Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Lipscomb, after Belmont won court two in doubles, rallied to even the point at one apiece after
Giovanni Ciocca and
Oliver Thoeny (5-3) picked up the 6-2 win at the No. 3 flight.
However, it was the Bruins who got out to the 1-0 lead with a 6-3 victory at the top flight.
Belmont quickly made it a 3-0 lead with wins at the top two flights in singles, both coming in straight sets.
Lipscomb finally got on the board thanks to
Juan Lombisano's 6-4, 7-6 (3) win at the No. 3 flight to improve his spring record to 6-4.
That win sparked life for the Bisons at the bottom of the rotation.
Facundo Perlov (8-2) won his sixth straight singles match with a a 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 win over Morgan Woodson on court four to make it 3-2.
Filippo Verdese (4-2) used a three-set victory to take down Niklas von Hellens, 6-4, 1-6, 7-5, to even the match at three points apiece.
Coming down to
Oliver Thoeny and Stefan Vedovelli. The freshman in Thoeny rallied to force a third set with his 7-5 win in set two. However, Vedovelli came back to win the set and point, 7-5, to clinch the match.
