HOW IT HAPPENED
The first inning saw the Blue Raiders send eight men to the plate. After a lineout right back to starter Cameron Guise on the second pitch, MTSU recorded four straight hits, capped by a two-run single by Brett Vondohlen.

Three batters later, Matt Wolfe added two more runs with his base knock up the middle to improve the lead to 4-0 after one inning of play.

The Bisons cashed in two walks in the top of the second, one to lead off the inning by David Coppedge, and the other by Ryan Austin with two outs. Alejandro Ludeiro scored the first run of the game for Lipscomb with an RBI knock, and Jacob Tobias added on with his RBI knock to center field to cut the deficit to 4-2.

MTSU got the two runs back and then some, adding a run in the third and six in the fourth to increase the lead to 13-2.

In the sixth, the Bisons started chipping away at the deficit with two runs in the sixth, capped by a fielder's choice by Jacob Tobias to bring home Ryan Austin

In the seventh, David Coppedge's three-run home run for his sixth of the season to make it a 13-7 score in favor of the Blue Raiders.

Unfortunately for MTSU, they tacked on an insurance run in the eighth to extend the lead to 14-7.

However, the Bisons bats did not give up. After a one-out walk by David Coppedge, Kai Holm delivered his sixth home run of the season to cut the deficit to 14-9, but the Blue Raiders ended the threat to seal the midweek win.
