Women's Golf Wraps Up Coach Mo Classic

St. Augustine, Fla. – Lipscomb Women's Golf rounded out its regular season slate at the Coach Mo Classic on Monday and Tuesday. The squad finished 11th in a field of 16 teams that included three top-45 teams.
Lipscomb freshman Bridget Craig led the way for the Bisons with a 30th place finish in a field of 90 competitors. Craig led the Bisons throughout the three rounds, turning in three solid scores. She got better with each round with scores of 77, 76, 75 to finish at (+12) while connecting on four pars and a team-high 35 pars.
Lauren Thompson also had a solid week, finishing tied for 36th. She scored a 76 and 79 in the first two rounds, respectively, before firing off a 74 in the final round. All told, she finished with a (+13) with seven birdies and 29 pars. Thompson was exceptional on Par 5 holes, finishing second in the field by averaging 4.67 and going (-4) on those holes.
The Bisons' next finishers were Katya Tibbetts and Casey Yu who finished just behind Thompson with a (+14). Tibbetts tied for 41st in the field after posting round scores of 78, 77, 75. Tibbetts was steady with 33 pars and five birdies and finished tied for third in the field on Par 3 holes, averaging 2.92 (-1) over those holes. Yu also finished tied for 41st. After getting out to a slow start with an 84 in the first round, she put in a 73 in each of the second and third rounds to move up 14 spots after the first day of competition. Yu connected on Lipscomb's only eagle while adding six birdies and 32 pars.
Tzunami Polito rounded out scoring for the Bisons. Polito finished tied for 59th with scores of 78, 80, 76 (+18). Polito led Lipscomb with a team-high eight birdies and added 23 pars.

Lipscomb will compete in its final regular season tournament on April 7 at the Tennessee Spring Challenge in Knoxville, Tenn. at Fox Den Country Club.
