HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Lipscomb Women's Golf finished fourth at the ASUN Championship after finishing with a 318 in the final round. All told, the Bisons shot round scores of 292, 300, 318 to finish (+46). 

Following a strong start to the tournament in Round One, the Bisons ascended to the top of the standings after Round Two and battled top ranked FGCU and Stetson all the way to the end, eventually falling only a few strokes short of their second ASUN Championship in the past three seasons. The elements played a strong factor for all teams on the final day, with sustained winds wreaking havoc for the entire field. 
 
Casey Yu led the way for Lipscomb with a third place finish. After sitting in first at (-2) after the first two rounds, Yu shot an 80 (+8) in the final round to finish third overall. Yu challenged ASUN Individual medalist Filippa Jansson until the very end. The two players stayed in lock-step, remaining within one stroke of each other until an unfortunate lie on #12 led to a deficit too large to overcome for Yu. Yu trailed Jansson by one stroke heading into the infamous #16 par 3 that challenges players to navigate a stiff inward breeze over water.

The tension thickened as both players parred the difficult par 3 and headed to the par 5 #17, which dares players to carry water to reach the green in two. Facing a one stroke individual deficit and being within five strokes of the team lead, Yu was the only player of the final grouping that went for the green in two. Yu had the distance, but landed a little left of the green and had to scramble for par after a difficult pitch on her third shot. After laying up, Janssen was able to get close enough with her third shot to make birdie on the hole, ultimately pulling away with the individual medalist title.
 
Katya Tibbetts came off a strong second round to go into the final 18 holes in third place. She finished her tournament with an 83 for an overall score of 229 (+13), to finish tied for 16^th. Lauren Thompson finished her collegiate campaign on Tuesday with a 78 in her final round. All told, she finished tied for 19^th at 230 (+14). 
 
Bridget Craig and Tzunami Polito rounded things out for the Bisons. Craig finished her tournament with a 78 in round three for a 237 (+21) and tied for 31^st. Polito finished tied for 25^th after posting an 82 to finish at 239 (+23). 
 
During the tournament, Lipscomb led the field with 38 birdies and added 137 pars.
