HOW IT HAPPENED
Lipscomb quickly got on the board in the bottom of the first. After
Aaron Stelogeannis led off the frame with a five-pitch walk, two wild pitches and a groundout by
Parks Bouck later, he scratched across the first run of the game.
Cole O'Brien helped get the Lipscomb bats back going in the second with a 1-2-3 inning on the mound. After a
Corey Boyette double, Stelogeannis blasted his third home run of the season with a two-run shot.
In the third, after
David Coppedge started the inning with a triple,
Damion Kenealy Jr. flew out to right for the Bisons fourth run of the game.
The Bisons put the game away with a two-run double by
Brady Miller, his 10th two-bagger of the year, in the fourth.
Lipscomb added one more in the sixth, as a
Kai Holm 101 mile per hour rocket off the shortstop saw
Parks Bouck score on the play.
The Bisons defense held strong in preserving the shutout, turning back-to-back double plays in the seventh and eighth innings.
However, the Bears ended the shut out threat in the ninth with a three-run bomb by Preston Curtis for his third home run of the year.
