JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Lipscomb University men's tennis team were eliminated from the 2025 Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament with a 4-2 defeat to the University of North Florida, Thursday from the UNF Tennis Courts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After taking down the Ospreys for the first time in program history five days ago to wrap up the regular season, the Bisons saw the momentum out early in their favor. In doubles, Oliver Thoeny and Antoine Testaud (6-2) breezed past Lorenzo Messina/Gianluca Filoramo, 6-1, on court three. 

The All-Freshman Team duo of Oskar Szymczak and Giovanni Ciocca (2-2) clinched the team point with a 6-3 victory on court two. 

In singles, Thoeny (12-17) got the rematch with Chase Healey on court six. After dropping the match last week, the sophomore battled back on Thursday to win, 6-3, 6-1, to get the lead to 2-0. 

However, the Ospreys won the next four singles points, including the clinch at court one by Andreas Scott to advance to the semifinals. 

HERD NOTES
The 2025 season ends with 11 wins for the Bisons, matching last year's mark. They missed the Division I era record by one, winning 12 matches in 2004. 

Since 1999, the most wins for the program came in 2002, when they won 13 matches in the program's third season of Division I transition from the NAIA. 

Lipscomb qualified for the ASUN Championship for the 17th time in program history and the third straight season in 2025.

Despite the loss, Lipscomb posted a .500 season or better for the first time since 2021 when they went 9-7.
