CONWAY, AR – After taking two losses in their doubleheader against the Sugar Bears yesterday, Lipscomb faced Central Arkansas in their final matchup of the series. Entering the matchup, the Bisons had won at least one game in every ASUN series this season and they looked to extend that streak, but ultimately it was Central Arkansas who swept Lipscomb.

Lipscomb recorded three consecutive hits from
Macyn Kirby,
Alyssa Hastings, and
Josey Polk to lead off the top of the first.
Brenna Sherman recorded an RBI on a ground out to send Kirby home, putting the Bisons on the board early.
Presley Rader reached on a fielder's choice and Hastings was able to convert a second run for Lipscomb for a Rader RBI.
The Bisons' lead was short-lived as the Sugar Bears tied the score in the bottom of the inning. Central Arkansas took the lead with a third run in the bottom of the second.
Courtney Sauer entered the circle to retire
Laine Barefoot, but the Sugar Bears went pedal to the metal, scoring another two runs for a 6-2 advantage.
Lipscomb got back into a groove in the top of the third, loading the bases with no outs to lead off. Rader recorded her second RBI of the afternoon on a SAC fly with a score from Hastings.
Central Arkansas put three more runners on the board in the bottom of the fifth and sixth innings to extend their lead to 9-3.
The Bisons picked up two base hits in the top of the seventh before Rader stepped up to the plate with two outs. Rader launched the ball over the fence for runs from Hastings and
Brenna Sherman, cutting the Sugar Bear's lead to three.
The Sugar Bears closed the inning out after relieving their pitcher to sweep the series. Despite the loss, the Bisons outhit Central Arkansas 11-10.
Presley Rader had a fantastic afternoon, hitting 1-3 with five RBI and a run of her own on a homer.
Alyssa Hastings swung 2-3, recording three of Lipscomb's six runs.
Brenna Sherman and
Macyn Kirby each hit 2-4 on the afternoon and a run each.
