COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Lipscomb University baseball team saw a multi-home run performance by
Parks Bouck, his first of his Lipscomb career, to help defeat Tennessee Tech, 11-2, Wednesday evening from Bush Stadium.
Final Score: Lipscomb 11, Tennessee Tech 2
Location: Cookeville, Tennessee (Bush Stadium)
Records: Lipscomb (13-18), Tennessee Tech (21-13)
HOW IT HAPPENED
After the Bisons saw
Brady Miller lead off the game with a base hit, he was quickly erased on a double play. However, Tech would follow a similar script. After back-to-back walks to start the bottom of the first and an
Evan Cooke strikeout, Jorsixt Jimenez turned a 6-4-3 twin killing to end the threat.
In the second, after the Bisons loaded the bases,
Alejandro Ludeiro and
Ryan Austin produced back-to-back RBI groundouts to get out to the 2-0 lead.
However, TTU made it a 2-1 score with a Owen Lee solo home run.
Lipscomb added a run in the fourth with a two-out RBI knock by
Aaron Stelogeannis that saw Ludeiro score.
In the fifth, following a
Jake Berg walk to start the frame,
Parks Bouck launched his second home run of the season with an opposite-field shot.
Two pitches later,
David Coppedge was plunked with a pitch, and he came around to score on a base knock by Ludeiro.
Leading 6-1 in the eighth, it was a wash-and-repeat for Berg and Bouck. Berg started the inning with a walk, and Bouck followed with a bomb to left for his second home run of the game.
Next, after an infield hit by Coppedge,
Jacob Tobias made it 9-1 with an RBI hit.
Lipscomb tacked on two more in the ninth thanks to a Tennessee Tech error and a Bouck sacrifice fly.
Despite Tech scoring a run in the ninth, the Bisons pitching staff faced four batters in each of the first eight innings.
