JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Lipscomb University track and field teams wrapped up action at the 2025 Atlantic Sun Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships from the University of North Florida from Thursday to Saturday.
With both teams claiming second place overall in the meet, the Bisons tallied 20 medals out of the 42 events, including 10 gold.
The Bison women totaled 132 points, including racking up 85 on the final day, Saturday night.
The men scored 110 points on Saturday night to vault from fourth to second place.
The medals started racking up for the Bisons in the women's 10,000 meter run on Thursday evening, as they swept the podium in the event.
Linda Perez ran a 35:49.33 to pace the field, while
Carmen Krawczynski Gonzalez (36:01.58) and
Aly Negovetich (36:21.88) followed right behind.
The women's mid-distance runners added another sweep for Lipscomb at the podium, taking first, second and third in the 1,500 meters.
Liza Corso led the herd with a 4:22.63, followed by
Mia Bergman (4:25.23) and
Mackenzie Barnett (4:26.10).
Corso added a second medal with her bronze in the 5,000 meters (16:45.56).
Hannah Wright led the way on the hurdles with a 14.08-second performance in the final after winning the prelim with a 14.12.
In the women's heptathlon,
Anna Richardson took second place with a score of 4,875 points thanks to five runner-up finishes in the high jump (1.61m), shot put (10.84m), 200 meters (25.68), javelin throw (37.25m) and 800 meters (2:35.61).
Aiyah Siggers tallied a 14.36-second performance in her final round of the 100 hurdles for third, while
Leonie Saurer clocked a 10:38.86 in the 3,000 steeplechase to take bronze.
Regan Watts, Wright,
Jaden Mathews and
Makayla Watson recorded a 46.25-second relay in the 4x100 effort for third place.
The Bison men picked up seven gold medals, matching champion Central Arkansas for the most at the championship.
Levi Streeval picked up two of those in the 800 meters (1:48.69) and the 1,500 meters (3:42.13).
His teammate,
James Schmidt, finished by a quarter of a second with a 3:42.38 to take silver.
Braeden Ofosu-Kwarteng improved his winning prelim time of 47.18 in the 400 with a 46.32-second mark in the final for gold.
Braedon Palmer's 14:29.90 in the 5,000 meters was the fastest, while
Brady Yingst's 8:56.61 was the top mark in the 3,000 steeple.
Two student-athletes earned gold in the field events:
Justin Davis collected two with his gold medal jump of 14.69 meters in the triple jump on his fifth attempt. In the long jump, his 7.13-meter mark on his first attempt was good enough for second place.
The winner would be his teammate
Gabriel Martin, who posted a mark of 7.31 meters in his fifth attempt to earn gold.
The final gold medals were given in the 4x4 relay with a 3:13.48 from
Saxon Brown, Ofosu-Kwarteng,
Dimitri Kemp and
Nathan Wallace.
Lipscomb also picked up bronze in the 4x100 relay, as
Aden Bryan, Kemp, Ofosu-Kwarteng and
Justin Davis sprinted a 40.79-second relay.
