Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Late Equalizer Holds Bisons to 2–2 Draw with Western Carolina

Lipscomb Women's Soccer remains unbeaten in the early season season, but had to settle for a 2-2 draw against Western Carolina on Sunday afternoon at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex.

The Catamounts struck first in the ninth minute, as Milla Syska finished off a feed from Abbie Wise to give the visitors a 1-0 advantage. The Bisons responded with sustained pressure, racking up 12 first-half shots and testing goalkeeper Leanne Trudel on multiple occasions. After near misses from London De Fini and Hailey Johnson, Lipscomb finally broke through in the 38th minute when Chloe Iliff slotted home her first goal of the season off an assist from Jaide-Simone Prejean.

Just three minutes later, the Bisons pulled in front as freshman Skylar Cole buried a finish from close range after being set up by Bella Carapazza, sending Lipscomb into halftime with a 2-1 lead.

After a physical start to the second half, Western Carolina regrouped and turned the momentum with nine second-half shots and eight corner kicks. The pressure eventually paid off in the 83rd minute when Kylie White converted from inside the box to level the score at 2-2.

Despite several late chances from both sides, neither team found a winner. Lipscomb finished with an 18-12 edge in shots and held 54% of possession, while goalkeeper Kaïna Cesar recorded three saves.

The Bisons move to 2-0-1 on the season and will travel to face Miami on Thursday, August 28, at 6 p.m. CDT, and FAU on Sunday, August 31, at 12 p.m. CDT in their first road pairing of the season.
