A theme of this trip has been the word "quiet". Today, I saw that word come to life once again. Presley shared what "quiet" means to her in relation to her faith during our morning devotional, and ever since, it has stuck in my mind. Don't be fooled—this trip has been filled with many (probably too many!) loud dinners, full of talking and laughter. But sitting in the quiet and fixing our gaze on Jesus has become a thread running through our week.
Today, we experienced the beauty of the ocean as we walked along the beach for lunch. We sat by the water for nighttime devotionals and worship, and we gazed at the huge cross and stunning scenery at Camp Baja. It was such a gift to have these small moments of worship and quiet with the Lord—moments where we simply sat in awe of Jesus and His creativity.
To summarize the day: we traveled from Colonet to San Quintín, where we visited Camp Baja. This place is so dear to my heart, and returning there was incredibly special. Seeing the progress the camp has made since my last visit was amazing.
We visited Casa Amor, a senior living facility at Camp Baja, and had the joy of spending time with some of the women living there. I'll never forget the 90-year-old woman who belly-laughed with us as she tried to learn our names and as we helped her make her bed. That moment was filled with so much joy. It was beautiful to witness the impactful work happening at Camp Baja. We also helped prepare for the upcoming youth camp (Thursday through Saturday), and we're so excited to be part of it and to see the place filled with kids over the next few days!
After a full day at Camp Baja, we laughed and shared stories over dinner, then returned to our hotel for nighttime devotionals. We shared how we've seen God move and how we've seen Him reflected in each other. We ended the night worshiping by the water and praying together.
I am so encouraged by this small but mighty group. They bring joy into every room they enter, and each one has taught me more about the faithfulness and character of God through the specific gifts He has given them. I can't wait to see even more of God through them. I know we'll continue to encounter Him in powerful ways in the days ahead.
Thank you, Jesus, for your intentionality—for going before us at every step and for bringing this exact group together. In You, God, there are no coincidences. We praise You for time spent gazing upon Your beauty and listening for Your voice in the quiet.
