NASHVILLE – Coming off its second postseason appearance in its Division I history, the Lipscomb University women's basketball team has released its full non-conference schedule for the 2025-26 season. For
Lauren Sumski's squad, 11 games will take place in the tune-up for Atlantic Sun Conference play, including five home games inside Allen Arena.
Of the 11 games, three matchups will be against teams that made the postseason in Belmont, Chattanooga and Tennessee Tech. Belmont reached the finals of the Women's Basketball Invitational Tournament, which is the second-level of three postseason tournaments for Division I women's basketball.
Chattanooga competed with Lipscomb last season in the Women's National Invitational Tournament and finished in the second round, losing to eventual runner-up Troy. Tennessee Tech earned the automatic qualifier from the Ohio Valley Conference to participate in the NCAA Tournament.
"Our non-conference schedule features teams that competed in the postseason. We believe in trial by fire, so we try to provide our squad with an array of experiences in non-conference; we want to expose them to as many playing styles, personnel groupings and environments that we can. We are looking forward to opportunities to see where we are and how we can improve, as we prepare for conference play," said Sumski.
The 2025-26 schedule opens on Tuesday, Nov. 4 with a trip to Indiana University. This will mark the second time the two teams will meet on the hardwood, most recently playing in 2023.
Returning to the schedule for the first time since the 2002-03 season is the University of the South, familiarly known as Sewanee, for the home opener on Thursday, Nov. 6. The matinee will tip off inside Allen Arena at 2 p.m.
Next on the season-opening home stand, the Bisons will take on in-state foe Chattanooga on Sunday, Nov. 9 for a 2 p.m. tip. This will be the third straight year the Mocs have been on the schedule, and this will mark the second time UTC will play in Allen Arena.
The three-game home stand wraps up with a matchup against Johnson University out of Knoxville on Thursday, Nov. 13 at 6 p.m.
The Bisons will next hit the road for a date with Mississippi Valley State in Itta Bena on Sunday, Nov. 16 before returning to the Music City to take on Belmont at the Curb Event Center on Nov. 19 as a part of a doubleheader with the men.
Lipscomb will then break for Thanksgiving, as they will resume play on Monday, Dec. 1 at Tennessee Tech.
The 20-day gap between home games ends on Dec. 4 with a game against Tennessee Martin at 6 p.m. The final non-conference home game will take place on Sunday, Dec. 7 when Tennessee State makes the short drive to Allen Arena.
Lipscomb's last two non-conference games will take place on the road, playing at Purdue (Dec. 11) and Samford (Dec. 18).
The Bisons and Boilermakers will meet in women's basketball for the first time, and for Samford, the two squads will square off for the first time since 2008.
