
Women's Golf Competes at Mason Rudolph

NASHVILLE – Lipscomb Women's Golf competed in its home city this weekend at the Mason Rudolph hosted by Vanderbilt at Vanderbilt Legends Golf Club. The squad finished 15th in the field with an overall score of 907 (+55).
Savannah Howell was Lipscomb's top finisher, tying for 30th in the field. She started her tournament by carding a 75 in the first round, but improved by three strokes in the second and third rounds, respectively, shooting a 72 in each. All told, she shot a 219 (+6) with seven birdies and an impressive 36 pars.
Maria Alcocer was one of Lipscomb's most solid performers all weekend. She had the best round of the Bisons over the first 18 holes, shooting a 72 and shot a 75 over her final 36 holes. Her total score of 222 (+9) was good to tie for 41st in the field. She finished with seven birdies and 33 pars.
Ava Bankston and Bridget Craig were Lipscomb's final two counting scores for the event. Bankston shot a 76 in both the first and third rounds with a 78 in the second round for a 230 (+17) to tie for 72nd. Craig started with a 78 before finishing up with a 77 and 83 in the second and third rounds, respectively for a final score of 238 (+25).
The final team finisher was Katya Tibbetts who tied for 82nd. She had round scores of 77, 80, and 82 for a final score of 239 (+26).
Lipscomb's Casey Yu competed as an individual for her first action on the course this fall. She was solid, finishing in 64th place. Her best round was a 74 in the first round before carding a 76 and 77 over the final 36 holes for a 227 (+14).

The Bisons will be back on the course Oct. 19-21 at the Diamante Intercollegiate held at Diamante Country Club in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
