NASHVILLE -- For the third time this season, Mateo Esmeraldo has been named the ASUN Newcomer of the Week, the league announced Monday. The honor comes after Esmeraldo helped lead Lipscomb to a 2-0 week with wins over Stetson and FGCU. 

Esmeraldo averaged 10.0 points per game, 3.5 rebounds per game, and 5.0 assists per game. He shot 55.6%, going 5-for-9 from the field and 75% from three-point range, going 3-for-4. He was also a perfect 7-for-7 from the charity stripe. 

Lipscomb will be back in action Thursday, Jan. 29 at Jacksonville to try and stay at the top of the ASUN standings.
