Women's Tennis Drops Match at No. 28 Vanderbilt

NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb University Women's Tennis team battled a Vanderbilt University squad that saw six of the nine flights between singles and doubles ranked, as the Commodores swept the Bisons 7-0 on Friday evening from the Lummis Family Tennis Center.
All rankings are from the latest announcement from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

HOW IT HAPPENED
All three of Vanderbilt's doubles teams are ranked in the top 65, and their top-two are in teh top 10, as the Commodores took the doubles point.
In singles, VU saw wins at the No. 5, No. 1 and No. 3 spots to clinch the match.
The lone singles flight that wasn't a straight-set came at the No. 2, as Mariia Dolzhenko forced the 10-point set break with a 6-3 win in the second frame. However, she could not get past No. 15 Valeria Ray, who won the break 11-9.
UP NEXT
The Bisons are right back at it on Saturday morning, as they will face Xavier from the Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Center. Due to baseball next door, the match has been pushed up to an 11 a.m. start.
