NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb University Women's Tennis team battled a Vanderbilt University squad that saw six of the nine flights between singles and doubles ranked, as the Commodores swept the Bisons 7-0 on Friday evening from the Lummis Family Tennis Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
All three of Vanderbilt's doubles teams are ranked in the top 65, and their top-two are in teh top 10, as the Commodores took the doubles point.
In singles, VU saw wins at the No. 5, No. 1 and No. 3 spots to clinch the match.
The lone singles flight that wasn't a straight-set came at the No. 2, as
Mariia Dolzhenko forced the 10-point set break with a 6-3 win in the second frame. However, she could not get past No. 15 Valeria Ray, who won the break 11-9.

The Bisons are right back at it on Saturday morning, as they will face Xavier from the Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Center. Due to baseball next door, the match has been pushed up to an 11 a.m. start.
