MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Lipscomb University Baseball team saw three unearned runs score by the University of Memphis, as the Tigers took the midweek contest from the Bisons, 5-3, Tuesday afternoon from FedEx Park Avron Fogelman Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Memphis scored four of its five runs in the second inning. Freddy Rodriguez posted a two-RBI knock to get the Tigers on the board first.
After an infield hit by Shane Cox to load the bases, an errant throw by Lipscomb saw Memphis score two more to lead 4-0.
In the fourth, the Bisons cut the deficit in half. Following a
Keaton Mahan lead-off double,
Blake Carter smashed a 415-foot, line drive home run to make it a 4-2 score.
Lipscomb had back-to-back base runners in the fifth and sixth, but the threats were thwarted each time by lineout double plays.
Memphis tacked on an insurance run in the seventh, as a third unearned run came across on a bunt single.
KEY STATISTICS
Blake Carter launched his second homer of the season to lead the Bisons' offense.
The Bisons' bullpen limited the damage, tossing the final five innings.
Adam Jamison came in and shut the door in the seventh with an inning-ending strikeout, while
Jevarra Martin Jr. pitched a clean eighth with a strikeout.
