JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Despite taking the doubles point, the Lipscomb University Women's Tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to the No. 55 University of North Florida, Tuesday afternoon from the UNF Tennis Complex.
The Ospreys, prior to the updated ITA rankings during the match on Tuesday, were ranked 55th in the ITA Division I poll when first serve was conducted.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In doubles play, the Bisons saw themselves in a hole after Laurie Barendse and Isabel Oliveira won on court one, 6-4. However,
Martina Bovio and
Kameliia Tytarenko (3-2) picked up their third dual win in a row, taking down May Fadida and Aryana Bartlett on court three, 6-4.
Coming down to the final flight,
Deborah Dominguez Collado and
Sofiia Paladi (12-3) picked up their third straight victory and improved their spring record to 6-2 with a 6-3 final score to take the team point.
UNF started singles with a second-set tiebreak win to take court four and even the match at a point apiece. However,
Sofiia Zhylchuk earned her 10th victory of the year, including her sixth in the spring schedule, with a 7-5, 6-1 victory against Anslee Long on court six.
Unfortunately for the Bisons, the Ospreys won the final four points to take the match. All being played to decisive third sets, North Florida clinched the match at the top flight, using a 7-5 tiebreak score in the final frame.

The Bisons will remain in Jacksonville the remainder of the week, as they will play Appalachian State in a neutral-site contest on Friday.
