NASHVILLE, TN – Lipscomb Softball responded in a big way on Saturday, defeating Central Arkansas 12–7 in the series finale to close out the weekend at home.
The Bisons jumped out early in the first inning when Presley Rader lined an RBI single down the left field line to score Mallory Ogle. Moments later, Josephine Heuberger added an RBI single up the middle to plate Brenna Sherman, giving Lipscomb a 2–0 lead.
Central Arkansas answered in the second inning, scoring three runs to take a 3–2 advantage.
Lipscomb regained control in the second inning behind a huge swing from Brenna Sherman, who launched a grand slam to left-center field, scoring Ogle, Briley Burns, and Kyla Jobe to give the Bisons a 6–3 lead.
The Bears continued to battle, tying the game at 6–6 in the fourth inning, but Lipscomb quickly responded in the bottom half. Sherman delivered again with an RBI double to score Ogle before Rader followed with an RBI double of her own to extend the lead. Kyla Jobe later drew an RBI walk to push the advantage to 9–6.
The Bisons broke the game open in the fifth inning. Macey Ogle drove in a run with a single, and another run scored on a wild pitch. Josephine Heuberger capped the inning with a sacrifice fly to extend the lead to 12–6.
Central Arkansas added a run in the seventh, but Lipscomb held on to secure the 12–7 victory.
Sherman led the offensive explosion with a grand slam and an RBI double, while Rader and Heuberger each contributed multiple RBIs. The Bisons tallied 12 runs in a strong bounce-back performance to close the series.
