NASHVILLE, TN – Lipscomb Softball earned a strong midweek road win on Wednesday night, defeating Tennessee State 7-3.
The Bisons got on the board in the second inning when Ella Polk lifted a sacrifice fly to center field to score Josephine Heuberger. Moments later, Kyla Jobe crossed the plate on a wild pitch to give Lipscomb an early 2–0 lead.
Lipscomb added another run in the third inning as Presley Rader singled to center field to bring home Mallory Ogle, extending the lead to 3–0.
Tennessee State responded in the fourth inning with two runs to cut the deficit to 3–2, but the Bisons answered back in the fifth. Brenna Sherman delivered a sacrifice fly to score Ogle and push the lead to 4–2.
In the sixth inning, Ella Polk added another RBI on a ground out as Jobe scored, making it 5–2.
Tennessee State added a run in the bottom of the sixth, but Lipscomb put the game away in the seventh inning. Macey Ogle doubled to right-center to score Presley Rader, and later scored on an error to extend the lead to 7–3.
The Bisons closed it out in the bottom half to secure the victory.
