NASHVILLE, TN – Lipscomb Softball closed out its home series against Austin Peay with a strong performance on Sunday afternoon, earning a 5–2 victory in the finale.

The Bisons struck early in the first inning when Presley Rader launched a two-run home run to left field, scoring Brenna Sherman to give Lipscomb a 2–0 lead.

Austin Peay got one back with a solo home run in the fourth, but Lipscomb responded in the bottom half of the inning. MK Hickey lifted a sacrifice fly to bring home Rader, extending the lead to 3–1.

The Bisons added insurance in the fifth inning when Kyla Jobe delivered a two-RBI single to left field, scoring both Rader and Sherman to push the advantage to 5–1.

Austin Peay added a run in the sixth, but Lipscomb maintained control down the stretch to secure the win.

In the circle, Jesyne Espinal delivered a strong outing, tossing 6.1 innings while allowing just five hits and two runs (one earned). She issued two walks and recorded one strikeout on 85 pitches, helping guide the Bisons to the series-clinching victory.
 

UP NEXT

The Bisons will travel to Conway, Arkansas to close out the regular season against Central Arkansas. The series begins on Thursday, April 30 with first pitch set for 4:00 p.m., followed by a doubleheader on Friday, May 1.
