NASHVILLE, TN – Lipscomb Softball dropped both games of Saturday's ASUN doubleheader against EKU, falling 10–3 in Game 1 and 4–0 in Game 2.
GAME 1: EKU 10, LIPSCOMB 3
EKU struck early, plating three runs in the second inning before adding two more in the third to build a 5–0 lead.
The Bisons got on the board in the fourth inning when Josephine Heuberger drove in a run on a groundout. Moments later, Kyla Jobe added an RBI to cut the deficit to 5–2.
EKU continued to add on in the sixth inning, extending the lead to 8–2.
Lipscomb answered in the bottom half when Josephine Heuberger drew an RBI walk to bring home Macyn Kirby, trimming the deficit to 8–3.
The Colonels added two more runs in the seventh to secure the 10–3 victory.
GAME 2: EKU 4, LIPSCOMB 0
EKU broke through in the fourth inning, scoring the game's first run before adding two more to take a 3–0 lead.
The Colonels added an insurance run in the sixth inning to extend the margin to 4–0.
Lipscomb was unable to generate offense in the contest as EKU held the Bisons off the board to complete the doubleheader sweep.
