Women’s Tennis Starts Spring Break with 4-1 Home Win over FGCU

NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb University Women's Tennis team bounced back with a 4-1 victory over Florida Gulf Coast University to wrap up a two-match home stand, Saturday afternoon from the Ensworth Tennis Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bisons cruised to the doubles point with 6-1 wins on courts two and three. Deborah Dominguez Collado and Soffia Paladi (11-3) secured the team point on court two.
After Serafima Bobrovnikova (9-4) won 6-1, 6-1 on court four to give Lipscomb a 2-0 lead, FGCU's Ashley Matz won 6-1, 6-1 at the third flight to make it a 2-1 lead for the Bisons.
Later, on court two, Mariia Dolzhenko (15-7)) put Lipscomb one win away with a 6-0, 6-2 rout of June Bjork. On court six, Sofiia Zhylchuk (9-6) won 6-1, 6-1 to secure the match, as the contest was played to clinch, meaning the first to four team points wins.

Lipscomb will spend the majority of its spring break in Jacksonville, Florida, starting with a match with No. 55 North Florida on Tuesday morning.
