
Women's Tennis Matches Program-Best Seventh Straight Win on Senior Day

NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb University Women's Tennis team cruised to a 4-0 rout of Eastern Kentucky University to cap off Senior Day on Friday afternoon from the Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Center.
Prior to first serve, the Bisons honored Alina Cherniaieva and Sofiia Paladi for senior day.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In doubles, despite a 6-2 win by Mariia Dolzhenko and Serafima Bobrovnikova (7-5) at the top flight, EKU also won a flight with a 6-2 score on court three.
However, Sofiia Paladi and Deborah Dominguez Collado (18-3), earned their ninth straight doubles win, and it came in a big way with a 6-4 dub on court two.
From there, the momentum stayed with the Bisons into singles, as they picked up the wins need to sweep the Colonels.
Dolzhenko (21-9) stormed past Masha Fedenko, 6-0, 6-0 to start the winning for Lipscomb.
Sofiia Zhylchuk (15-6) followed on court six, defeating Anastas Cherniakova, 6-0, 6-2.
On Senior Day, Paladi (16-11) was the one to clinch the match for the Bisons. Earning her 85th singles win of her career on Friday, she defeated Sasha Parkhomenko 6-2, 6-1, to secure the match.
HERD NOTES
Lipscomb earned its seventh straight win, finishing off a perfect home stand on Friday. The Bisons have matched the program's best win streak since 2005-06 with seven straight wins from the 2016 season.

With the regular season in the books, Lipscomb has earned the two-seed in the upcoming Atlantic Sun Tournament next week in Fort Myers, Florida from the campus of Florida Gulf Coast University.
The Bisons will play the Colonels again in the quarterfinals on Thursday at 8 a.m. CDT.
