NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb University Women's Tennis team defeated the University of North Alabama by a 4-1 score on Friday afternoon from the Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bisons had control from the get-go, taking the team point in doubles play. After
Kameliia Tytarenko and
Martina Bovio (7-3) won 6-2 on court three,
Mariia Dolzhenko and
Serafima Bobrovnikova (7-3) took a 6-4 victory at the top flight to put the Bisons ahead 1-0.
In singles, Dolzhenko (19-9) cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 victory on court two against Emma Ansorage to improve her spring record to 10-6.
UNA avoided the shutout with a victory on court three, but the Bisons finished off the Lions with victories at the fourth and sixth flights.
Bobrovnikova (14-5), extended her win streak to five matches after taking down Sammie Schouten at the fourth flight. After winning 6-4 in the opening set, she rallied from a 5-5 tie to defeat her foe, 7-5, to give Lipscomb the 3-1 advantage.
At the sixth flight,
Sofiia Zhylchuk (14-6) also hit double-digits in the spring schedule on Friday. Now 10-5 in dual matches, she defeated Senem Ocal 7-5, 6-1 to secure the victory for the Bisons, as they earn their fifth straight win.
