NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb University Women's Soccer Head Coach Dr. Kathleen Paulsen announced the addition of Maria Fields to the Bisons coaching staff as Assistant Goalkeeping Coach beginning Monday, May 18.
Fields joins the program with a strong background in goalkeeper development, recruiting, and student-athlete mentorship at both the collegiate and youth levels.
"We are thrilled to welcome Maria to the Lipscomb Women's Soccer staff," said Paulsen. "She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge through her background in goalkeeping, nutrition, business, and collegiate soccer. More importantly, her passion for fostering a Christ-centered team culture and pursuing excellence both on and off the field continually stood out throughout the hiring process. Maria's reputation precedes her, and we could not be more excited to have her join our program."
Fields earned her Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Neuroscience from Illinois Wesleyan University, where she competed as a goalkeeper for the women's soccer program. She recently graduated early with her Master of Business Administration from North Central College in May 2026.
While at North Central, Fields served as a graduate assistant coach for the women's soccer program, contributing across all aspects of operations including recruiting coordination, practice planning, opponent scouting, player development, academic monitoring, and data analytics.
Fields also brings extensive goalkeeper-specific coaching experience. Since 2019, she has served as a staff coach at Camp Shutout in Wisconsin, the largest goalkeeper camp in the world, helping train and mentor hundreds of youth goalkeepers.
With a passion for player development and leadership, Fields adds a well-rounded perspective and strong coaching foundation to the Bisons women's soccer program ahead of the 2026 season.
