HOW IT HAPPENED
After

Jordan Thomas led off with a single, and
Kai Holm followed with a walk. After a sacrifice bunt by
Danny Ramirez advanced both runners into scoring position,
Damion Kenealy Jr. reached on a fielding error on a sac bunt of his own that saw Thomas even the score at a run apiece.
Next up,
Keaton Mahan's bunt single brought in Holm, and a three-run homer by
Brady Miller extended the lead to 5-1 through two innings.
In the third inning, Thomas added a solo home run, increasing the advantage to 6-1. The fourth inning saw Mahan single and later score on a Miller RBI single, his fourth of the game, making it 7-1.
The Colonels responded in the fifth, with Boone Shevey scoring on a bases-loaded walk and Kobe Benson adding another run with a groundout, narrowing the score to 7-3. The Bisons' defense held in the sixth and seventh innings, maintaining the margin.
The eighth inning saw Lipscomb widen the gap. Holm singled, and pinch hitters
Cole Pippenger and
Blake Carter contributed with Pippenger advancing on an error and Holm scoring on Carter's sacrifice fly.
Eric Harper then doubled on a pinch to right center, driving in two more runs, pushing the lead to 10-3.
Eastern Kentucky attempted a comeback in the ninth with a two-run homer by David Alvarez, but the Bisons' lead held firm, resulting in a final score of 10–5.
