STARKVILLE, Miss. – The Lipscomb University Baseball team suffered a 10-4 loss to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in an elimination game at the NCAA Division I Baseball Starkville Regional on Saturday evening from Dudy Noble Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Louisiana took an early lead in the first inning with a two-run homer by Mark Collins, bringing Rodriguez home after his single.
In the second inning, Collins delivered again with a two-RBI single to extend the lead to 4-0.
Lipscomb responded in the third inning with
Jordan Thomas. After a nine-pitch at bat from starter Ty Roman his first time to the plate, he was able to read his second AB very well. The junior smashed a two-run homer to center field, scoring
Hutson Miles, who had walked.
Louisiana answered with a solo home run by Colt Brown, making the score 5-2.
UL increased its lead in the fourth inning as Blaze Rodriguez singled up the middle to score Josh Lim, who had reached third on a single and a stolen base. The score was 6-2.
In the fifth inning, the Ragin' Cajuns added two runs with Lim's RBI single and Drew Markle scoring on a wild pitch, extending the lead to 8-2.
Damion Kenealy Jr. hit a solo home run down the right field line in the sixth inning off the foul pole, narrowing the gap to 8-3. The Bisons added another run in the seventh when Thomas singled to left center, scoring Miles, who had reached base on his third walk of the day. The score was 8-4.
Louisiana scored two more runs in the eighth inning. Rodriguez's bunt single and a throwing error allowed Noah Lewis to score, followed by Rodriguez scoring on a sac fly by Lee Amdee. The final score was Louisiana 10, Lipscomb 4.
