Lipscomb Men's Golf Earns GCAA PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award; Four Named Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Lipscomb Men's Golf program continued its tradition of excellence in the classroom during the 2025-26 academic year, earning Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) Presidents Special Recognition while four Bisons were named 2025-26 NCAA Division I Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars.
The GCAA announced a record 331 schools across six divisions as recipients of the 2025-26 PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award, recognizing programs that achieved a cumulative team grade-point average of at least 3.0 during the academic year. The Bisons were among just 155 programs nationwide to receive Presidents Special Recognition after posting a cumulative team GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Individually, senior Toby Bishop, graduate student Oakley Gee, senior Maxi Klaus and senior Minas Manias each earned NCAA Division I Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors, recognizing their outstanding accomplishments both on the course and in the classroom.
Bishop, who earned a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management, concluded the academic year with a 3.89 cumulative GPA. Gee completed his Master of Business Administration while maintaining a perfect 4.00 GPA. Klaus earned the honor with a 3.81 GPA while pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management, while Manias posted a 3.60 GPA as a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance major.
The Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar program recognizes student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically. To be eligible, nominees must be academically at least a sophomore, compete in at least 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds, maintain a stroke average below 76.0 and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 or higher.
The PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award recognizes collegiate golf programs that achieve a cumulative team GPA of at least 3.0 during the academic year, while Presidents Special Recognition is reserved for programs that finish with an outstanding cumulative team GPA of 3.5 or higher, highlighting a commitment to excellence both in the classroom and on the course.
