Lipscomb Sweeps Team Titles at Michael Pretorius Invitational

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb Cross Country swept the team titles at the Michael Pretorius Invitational on Saturday, with both the men and women turning in dominant performances at Andrew Jackson's The Hermitage Cross Country Course. The women finished first out of four teams in the 5K, while the men took first out of five teams in the 8K.

The Lipscomb women controlled the front of the field, claiming each of the top four individual finishes and placing eight runners inside the top 10.

Molly Farrell led the bisons at 17:37.82, while Leonie Saurer followed closely in second with a time of 18:11.35.

Brinkley Cooper crossed the line fourth in 18:23.52, giving the Bisons each of the first four finishers. Mallory Bigelow added a sixth-place performance at 18:39.60, followed by Charli Keely in seventh at 18:46.09.

Carly Miller finished ninth in 18:56.80, while Bethany Wright rounded out Lipscomb's top-10 finishers in 10th with a time of 19:07.11.

The men were equally strong in the 8K, sweeping the top four individual positions on their way to the team title.

Owen Horevay captured the individual victory with a time of 24:16.93, while Landon Jonas finished runner-up in 24:49.51. Sam Loftin took third with a time of 24:53.94, and Brennan Kaplan completed the top-four sweep in 25:10.83.

Gavin Bacus gave Lipscomb five runners inside the top 10, finishing ninth in 26:29.92. Noah Wasserman completed the Bisons' lineup with a 12th-place finish and time of 26:45.33.

Saturday's meet featured a five-team Nashville-area field and marked the first collegiate cross country meet held at The Hermitage.
