Coach Fletcher Quote: "Bret Burgess is a red shirt junior who will serve primarily in a backup role for the Bisons this year. However, you never can tell. He played a lot last year and when given the opportunity he always gives a hundred percent."

2005: Batted .222. Played in 29 games, starting 17. Recorded one double and one triple. Also had four RBI. Three multi-hit games with two hits each. Also had one multi-hit game with two RBI. Longest hitting streak of the season was six game.

2004: Redshirt.

High School: All-District selection...Brentwood High Rookie of the Year 1999.

Personal: Bats right. Throws right. Hobbies are hunting and fishing. His brother Kyle played baseball at Motlow State Community College in Lynchburg, Tenn....Son of Dee and Barry Burgess.
