Lipscomb University

Sanford joins the Lipscomb Men's Basketball staff prior to the 25-26 season. 

A Louisville, KY native, Byron comes to Lipscomb from Trevecca after excelling there as both a player and coach. Byron’s basketball career was highlighted by finishing his career in the top-5 in 13 different categories, earning Great Midwest Player of the Year honors and being named Trevecca's Overall Outstanding Student Athlete. He then played three years of professional basketball overseas in Canada, Germany and Lithuania. 

For the past four years, Byron, who interned locally at D1 and who is a certified NSCA S&C specialist, served as the strength coach for Trevecca Nazarene University, where he was a part of the staff that most-recently led them to their two best back-to-back seasons in their NCAA DII history.
