Will Acuff returns to Lipscomb after serving as a graduate assistant coach with the Bisons during the 2021-22 season. In Acuff's season with the Bisons, Lipscomb notched 14 wins and advanced to the Quarterfinals of the ASUN Championship. Acuff assisted in all aspects of the basketball program with an emphasis in player development and day to day operations.

Acuff was part of the 2023-24 staff that led Lipscomb to a 20-12 season. The squad was 11-5 in the ASUN and posted a 12-2 record at home in Allen Arena. Acuff helped guide the Bisons to a non-conference win at Florida State and a narrow defeat on the road against Arkansas. The Bisons went 2-1 at the Northern Classic in Montreal, Canada with wins over UNC Asheville and Wofford. Lipscomb was one of the best teams in the ASUN all season and boasted a 7-1 record in ASUN games at home. The team finished top-25 in the country in a number of offensive categories as one of the most efficient offenses in the nation.

After his season with Lipscomb, Acuff was the head boys basketball coach at Randolph School in Huntsville, Ala. His 2022-23 team doubled their win total from the previous season.

Will is a 2021 graduate of The University of Alabama in Huntsville where he was a four year letterman on the Charger baseball team. He was a member of the 2021 squad that participated in the NCAA South Regional Tournament. Acuff graduated from Madison Academy in 2016 where he was part of two state championship baseball teams and was named to the All-State Tournament and All-Region Teams in both his junior and senior years. He was also a member of three-consecutive state championship basketball teams and earned All-State honors in both his junior and senior seasons.

"We are thankful to have Will Acuff back as a part of our staff. The year he spent at Lipscomb as a graduate assistant allowed him to gain first hand knowledge of how things work operationally within our program on a day to day basis," said Lennie Acuff.  "Additionally, the opportunity he had to be a head coach at the high school level provided him with the unique experience of coaching his own team in a highly competitive area  at a young age. Will's familiarity with our system will allow him to be immediately impactful within our player development program as well"
