Brock Smith is in his second season as graduate manager - operations, video and analytics with the Lady Bisons.
In his role with the Lady Bisons, Smith serves as the primary assistant to the Director of Basketball Operations, helps oversee team facility scheduling, is in charge of post-game film exchange and coordinates scheduling for the male practice players, affectionately known as the “Blue Crew”. Brock also assists the coaching staff with on-court workouts, manages and organizes team statistics from practices, scrimmages and games. He also assists with maintaining team equipment, while taking care of practice set up and take down.
Smith came to Lipscomb from the University of Texas where he served as a student manager from 2018-20. During his time at Texas, the Longhorns went 42-21, which included an NCAA Tournament berth in 2019 and a victory over then No. 1 Stanford in the 2019-20 season. At Texas, Smith also had the opportunity to work with three future WNBA draft picks, including 2021 No. 1 overall pick, Charli Collier.
Smith’s responsibilities at Texas included overseeing team equipment, managing practice set up and breakdown, assisting with practice film, assisting the coaching staff with on-court workouts, and assisting with on-campus recruiting.
A native of Midland, Texas, Smith graduated from the University of Texas in 2021 with a B.S. in Kinesiology and Health Education and is currently pursuing a Master’s of Education at Lipscomb University in Leading in curriculum and Instruction
