Biography
2022-23 (Graduate Student):
- Competed in 33 games this season with 11 starts for the Bisons this season
- Made his Lipscomb debut against South Dakota (11/9) with 10 points from four field goals including a pair of threes, seven rebounds, an assist, and a pair of blocks in his 28 minutes on the floor
- Totaled 761 minutes on the floor for an average of 23.1 minutes each night
- Racked up a total of 217 points in his time on the court, average 6.6 points per game
- Sunk 87 field goals on a .506 field goal percentage in addition to earning a .410 3-point percentage from 25 made shots from deep
- Went 18-for-26 from the free throw line, collecting a .692 free throw percentage over the course of the season
- Finished the season third on the team in total rebounds with 158 including 116 defensive rebounds
- Tallied 48 assists, 18 steals, and 12 blocks for the Purple and Gold this season
- Notched double-digit points in seven games, Schner recorded a season-high 18 points in his final game of the season against Kennesaw State (3/2)
- Recorded 5+ rebounds in 17 games with a season high 10 rebounds against Eastern Kentucky (1/19)

SENIOR SEASON - EMORY (2021-22):
- There were few players in all of DIII basketball that were more impactful and important to their team’s success as Schner was for the Eagles in the 2021-22 season.
- Etched himself into the history books as he finished in the top-10 in an incredibly large number of single season and individual game records and established himself as one of the top men’s basketball players to touch the floor at Emory as he finished at the top of nearly every career record book as well.
- One of two players to start each of the Eagles 26 games.
- Scored 611 points on the season, which were the most points in a single season in program history breaking an eight-year old record.
- Averaged 23.5 points per game his senior season, which also stands as the best mark for a single season in program history.
- His 17.6 career scoring average stands as the third best mark by an Eagle.
- Hitting 39.4% on three pointers, Schner’s career average on 3-pointer’s moved to a blistering 43.3% which is the best mark in program history.
- Averaged a program record 38.0 minutes per game, which moved his career average to 33.6 minutes per outing - the top mark for any Eagle.
- On top of his scoring prowess, Schner was also ferocious on the glass finishing with the seventh best single season rebounding average (8.7) and the eighth most total rebounds in a season (225).
- Schner’s career average of 7.7 rebounds per match ranks second on Emory’s all-time list.
- Not just a volume scorer, Schner’s field goal percentage of 51.4% on the season brought his career percentage to 53.7% which is the fifth best in program history.
- A facilitator as well with 94 assists, Schner finished ninth in assists per game (3.0) for his career and eleventh in total assists (240).
- Finished the year in the top-5 of 20 different statistical categories in the UAA, while also tallying 52 made free throws, 36 steals and nine blocks over the course of the 2021-22 season.
- One of five players named to the D3Hoops.com All-America First Team making him the first ever Emory men’s or women’s player to earn first team honors. Also earned a spot on the D3Hoops.com All-Region Team.
- One of 11 finalists for the 2022 Jostens Trophy which is given out to the most outstanding Division III men’s basketball player each season.
- Was named one of 25 finalists for the Bevo Francis Award which is given to the player who has the finest overall season in Small College Basketball (NCAA DII, DIII, NAIA, USCAA and NCCAA).
- Was named to the NABC All-American Second Team and All-District First Team making him just the third player in Emory's program history to be named an All-American by the NABC.
- Tabbed to the CoSIDA Academic All-American First Team.
- Earned the UAA Player of the Year Honor after earning Co-Player of the Year honors in 2020 as well as a spot on the All-UAA First Team for the third consecutive year.
- Named to the 2021-22 UAA Winter All-Academic Team.
- Scored 20 or more points in 19 games, including 30 or more in five games, and led the team in scoring in 23 of 26 contests.
- Also played 40 minutes or more in 13 games which is the most in program history.
- In the final game of his Emory career in the NCAA Second Round against Wabash (Mar. 5) he became the second player in program history to record a triple double (30 points, 15 rebounds, 10 assists) and his final three pointer of the game, that brought Emory within one point with 17 seconds left, gave him the single season scoring record for the Eagles.
- In the Eagles conference clinching game against Case Western Reserve (Feb. 18), Schner scored a career-high 39 points, tied for the second most in a game by an Eagle, on 16-for-27 shooting which is tied for the most made field goals in program history.
- In an overtime thriller against Carnegie Mellon (Feb. 20) Schner had a double-double with 28 points and 11 rebounds including the game winning pull up jumper with four seconds left to give the Eagles the one-point victory.
JUNIOR SEASON - EMORY (2019-20):
- Started all 27 Emory games and was named UAA Co-Player of the Year, First Team All-UAA and landed First team All-South Region accolades as picked by both the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and D3hoops.com.
- Two-time UAA Player of the Week.
- Ranked among the UAA's top 10 performers in 12 statistical categories including nine of sixth or higher.
- Paced all conference players in minutes (34.1 mpg).
- Second on the squad and fourth in the UAA in scoring average (15.5 ppg), while compiling 23 games of double-figure scoring.
- Ranked 2nd on the club and 6th in the UAA in rebounding with a 7.4 per game average.
- He snatched 10+ rebounds in seven games and recorded six double-doubles on the year.Â
- 201 total rebounds rank 10th on Eagles' seasonal ladder.
- Connected on 53.4 percent (148-of-277) of his field goal attempts, good for second on the team, fifth in the UAA and 16th on the Eagles' single-season chart.
- UAA's top 3-point shooter at 47.4 percent (55-of-116), good for sixth place on the school's seasonal list.
- Converted on 82.9 percent (68-of-82) of his free throw attempts which was fifth in the UAA.
- Totaled five games of 20 or more points while leading the team in scoring eight times.
- Second on the team and sixth in the league in assists (2.9 apg), while topping the club with 37 steals and was fifth in the conference in steals (1.4 spg).
- Team-high 37 minutes and produced 15 points on 6-of-10 field goals, including three-of-four from long distance, in the NCAA Tournament second round game vs. Pomona-Pitzer (Mar. 7).
- Three-pointer with 3:24 left in the game snapped a 64-64 deadlock and began an 8-0 Emory run in an eventual 78-74 triumph over Methodist (Mar. 6) in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.
- Game-high 20 points saw him knock down a season-high tying four three pointers and he added a season-high tying four steals in an 80-76 triumph over Rochester (Feb. 29) that helped clinch a share of the UAA title.
- Huge effort in a 98-86 win at Carnegie Mellon (Feb. 21), registering his sixth double-double of the year with a game-high 27 points along with a game-high tying 10 rebounds – ended the game 7-of-13 from the field and 13-of-13 from the foul line, with his makes at the charity stripe the high-water mark by an Emory player during the year.
- Tied for team scoring lead with 16 points and grabbed a game-high 11 boards in 99-81 win over NYU (Feb.14) – scored five points during a decisive 12-5 Eagle spurt that pushed them to a 19-point cushion in the second half.
SOPHOMORE SEASON - EMORY (2018-19):
- Played in all 26 Emory contests and drew 25 starting assignments while ranking second on the team with an average of 28.7 minutes per game.
- Earned First Team All-UAAÂ honors after averaging 13.8 points per game.
- Notched 20 double-figure scoring games, including 11 of his last 12 contests, and eclipsed 20+ points in three. Led the team in scoring on five occasions.
- Shot a team-high 58.6 percent (139-of-237) from the floor, ranking him fifth among UAA players and second on the program’s single-season list.
- Shot 50 percent or better from the floor in 17 games.
- Led the UAA in three-point shooting, connecting on 45.5 percent (40-of-88) from beyond the arc.
- Finished second on the team and seventh in the UAA in rebounding (7.0 rpg) - with 15 outings of 7+Â boards.
- Led the team in rebounding in nine games, while registering three double-doubles.
- Big effort in Emory’s NCAA contest vs. Wittenberg (Mar. 1), leading all players with 25 points (second-highest career total and tying for game honors with seven rebounds).
- Hit 10-of-13 field goals in the Wittenberg game, including four three-pointers.
- Tabbed as UAA Athlete of the Week (Dec. 10) after pacing the team with 24 points (14 in the second half), ranking second with nine rebounds and chipping in three steals – ended the game hitting 9-of-13 from the floor, including three treys in a 96-87 win vs. LaGrange (Dec. 5).
- Jewish Sports Review First Team All-American.
- Career-high 30 points in a 116-100 win over Carnegie Mellon (Jan. 20), seeing him connect on 13-of-15 from the floor, including a perfect 4-of-4from three-point range.
- Third and final double-double of the campaign came when he totaled 12 points and a game-high 12 rebounds in an 89-74 decision vs. Carnegie Mellon (Feb. 17).
FRESHMAN SEASON - EMORY (2017-18):
- Missed the entire season due to an injury.
HIGH SCHOOL
- Played four years at Grandview Prep under head coach Joe Dawson.
- Served as team captain his senior season where he averaged 22.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game en route to landing Class 2A First Team All-State honors.
- 2016-17 First Team All-Palm Beach County after being named second team as a junior.
- During his junior season he helped Grandview to a Class 2A state championship, finishing the year with a perfect 32-0 record, tossing in 12.5 points and dishing out 6.5 assists per contest.
- Grandview compiled a record of 58-3 with him as a starter.
- Also played one year on the baseball team.
