Megan McMurry joined the Bisons Athletic Training staff in the fall of 2021 and serves our volleyball and track and field programs.
Along with her work with the Bisons, she also assists as a preceptor with athletic training students at Cumberland University and Middle Tennessee State University.
Prior to her arrival in the Music City, she was an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Marshall University for two seasons, working primarily with the baseball and volleyball programs with The Herd. During her time in West Virginia, she implemented a return program for throwing and arm care program for the baseball team.
Along with serving as a preceptor for the Masters of Athletic Training program , she assisted with select sports, including cheerleading, football, track and field and swimming and diving.
He first collegiate experience came at Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, where she was a graduate assistant athletic trainer from 2017-20, serving with multiple programs, including women's soccer, volleyball, baseball and track and field.
She earned her start as a summer intern in the summer of 2017 with Athletes in Action. Also working again in the summer of 2019 with the program, she was the primary medical contact for a collegiate baseball team in Ohio and international athletes at a camp in Kingston, Jamaica.
During her time with the Bulldogs, she led orientations in sports medicine to all returning and incoming student-athletes to present policies and procedures.
She is certified with the Tennessee Department of Health, the Naitonal Athletic Trainers' Association and the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer and is a member of the NATA, the Southeast Athletic Trainers' Association and the Tennessee Athletic Trainers' Society.
McMurry graduated from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in athletic training. In 2019, she earned a Master of Science in kinesiology from Alabama A&M University.
