LAKEPOINTE, Ga. – No stranger to setting new records, Lipscomb’s Dawson Armstrong made ASUN Conference history on Thursday by collecting his 11th career ASUN Men’s Golfer of the Week, giving him the most weekly honors of any ASUN male athlete in any sport.
Armstrong was previously tied with USC Upstate’s Gilbert Kemboi (Cross Country) and Kennesaw State’s Bilal Abdullah (Indoor Track and Field) with 10 career awards after winning earlier this season for his performance in the Maui Jim Intercollegiate where he finished second.
The senior collected this week’s honor after collecting his eighth career medalist honor in winning the Bayou City Collegiate Classic in Houston, Texas. Armstrong won by four strokes behind a -12, 204 (67-70-67), led the field in par 4 and par 5 scoring and tied for the tournament lead with 16 birdies in the event.
