Women's basketball struggles on road trip to Kennesaw State

KENNESAW, Ga. – The baskets just weren’t falling for the Lipscomb women’s basketball team on Saturday as the Lady Bisons fell 67-36 on the road at Kennesaw State.

Lipscomb (3-22, 1-11) was not able to score more than 10 points in any quarter as the Owls’ (7-17, 3-8) defense suffocated the Purple and Gold.

Freshman Keely Morrow led the team in scoring for the second-consecutive game, notching 17 points on 7-14 shooting. She also grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.

Junior Lauren Rau collected four points, six rebounds, a team-high three assists, and a team-leading four steals off the bench.

Kamiyah Street paced the Owls with 25 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and seven steals. 

Lipscomb shot 13-57 from the field and 4-27 from three-point range.  

 

BISON TIDBITS:                                                                                 

  • Freshman Taylor Hammack blocked a team-best two shots.
  • Leading scorer Taylor Clark returned from a four-game injury absence to the tune of three points, three rebounds, and a steal in 20 minutes of action.
  • KSU out-rebounded Lipscomb 40-37 and had 16 assists to Lipscomb’s five.
  • Nine Lady Bisons played 10 or more minutes, led by 29 minutes from Deason.

Lipscomb will be back in Allen Arena on Tuesday night for a showdown with the ASUN-leading FGCU at 6:30 p.m.
