Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Bisons down Trevecca, 61-45

NASHVILLE – Playing its eighth game in 18 days, the Lipscomb men's basketball team took care of business Tuesday night, defeating crosstown foe Trevecca, 61-45, in Allen Arena.

The Bisons put three players in double figures, led by Romeao Ferguson's game-high 14 points.

KJ Johnson added 13 points, six rebounds and six assists, while Jake Wolfe chipped in with 12 points as the Bisons improved to 3-5 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Lipscomb was strong out of the gate behind seven quick points from Ferguson, taking a 13-5 advantage in the first four minutes.

After Trevecca (0-3) battled to keep it close, the Bisons rolled off a 6-0 run to push the lead to 11 at the 11:57 mark behind a three from Carson Cary and free throws from Johnson and Ahsan Asadullah.

Following a triple from the Trojans' Gabriel McKay that cut it to a two-possession game, the Bisons defense held strong and held TNU to only one field goal over the final 8:30 of the half en route to building a 31-21 lead at the break.

Over the first seven minutes of the second stanza, Trevecca was able to pull back to within six behind a 15-11 run, but the home team responded with a 7-0 spurt to grab a 49-36 lead with 10:57 to play.

From there, Lipscomb kept its double-digit advantage and outscored the Trojans 10-4 over the last five minutes.
