Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Bisons fall to Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Playing its first game in Fayetteville since 2004, the Lipscomb men's basketball team was unable to overcome the length and hot-shooting of Arkansas in an 86-50 Loss Saturday afternoon in Bud Walton Arena.

Senior Parker Hazen finished the night with six points, a team-high 10 rebounds and went 4-of-6 off the line. He finished just one board shy of matching his career high. Ahsan Asadullah was the only Bison to finish in double figures with 10 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Behind 7-foot-3 Connor Vanover, Arkansas (4-0) opened the game white-hot from long distance, hitting five straight three-pointers and raced out to a 20-2 advantage in the first five minutes of action.

Guards Jake Wolfe and Miles Miller got the Bisons (1-3) going offensively with a pair of triples during an 11-4 run to cut the Hogs lead in half, 22-11. That would be as close as Lipscomb would get as Arkansas built a 46-24 lead at the break behind 49 percent shooting and seven threes.

The purple and gold was unable to get much else going in the second half, shooting just 21.9 percent on 7-of-32 field goal attempts. Ahsan Asadullah scored six points and grabbed five rebounds after the break.

Sophomore Kaleb Coleman knocked down a pair of triples in the final 20 minutes and Hazen reeled in six of his team-high 10 rebounds.

NOTES
  • The Bisons were outshot 50% to 25% from the floor and made just 15-of-59 attempts.
  • Arkansas drained 11 threes, compared to just five for Lipscomb.
  • The Razorbacks outrebounded the Bisons 54-32.
  • The purple and gold finished with 10 second chance points and swiped seven steals for a second game in a row.
  • Coleman scored a career high eight points with a pair of threes and five rebounds.
  • Carson Cary added six points, while Miles Miller and Jake Wolfe each chipped in five.
