SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Led by Jason Hong and Alejandro Rodriguez in a tie for 20^th place overall the Lipscomb Men's Golf team ends day one of the Carolina Collegiate Invitational in seventh place on the team leaderboard.
 
Hong started strong in the first round shooting even with par at 72 strokes while recording three birdies. He followed the performance up with a second round just one stroke over par to put his total at 144.
 
Rodriguez had an up-and-down start to his day as he recorded four birdies to pair with as many bogeys in a round where the freshman shot even with par. Rodriguez's back-and-forth pace continued in the second round, but he ended on an emphatic note when an eagle on the 18^th hole brought him even with par for the day.
 
Following the team leaders is Jack Morris who sits in a tie for 43^rd place followed by Ford Goldasich who is tied for 49^th place and Austin Aliff who is tied for 56^th place.
 
Gregor McKenzie sits in a tie for 70^th place competing as an individual.
